1. Entrepreneur Idol - The Undergraduate Entrepreneurship Competition
November 15th, 2008, 11:00-3:30pm, McCormick Tribune Center
We are proud to host the 2nd Annual Entrepreneur Idol, an idea pitch competition emphasizing fun, vision, and delivery with competing schools across the Midwest.
The Competition
Entrepreneur Idol posts students with ideas against a panel of judges and audience members who will critique them based on the quality, creativity, and delivery of their concepts. The competition will be a full day extravaganza filled with passionate competition and lively entertainment. Elimination Rounds on Saturday will narrow the field for the Finals later that day. Helping competitors and audience through the stress and excitement of competition will be good food, educational speeches by successful entrepreneurs, and informational booths from leading organizations.
Participating Institutions
Undergraduate students from more than half-a-dozen Chicago-land universities are expected to compete in Entrepreneur Idol. Students may work as individuals or as teams and will be allowed whatever aids they feel are necessary for their presentations.

We are looking for committed and passionate people to be directors for the Northwestern University Venture Challenge and help change the face of entrepreneurship at Northwestern!
The NUVC in the two years since its conception has helped inspire over a hundred people to think beyond their regular academics and dream big! The prize money for last year's competition was $25,000. Check out http://nuvc.innuvation.org for last year's winners.
Here is a real leadership opportunity where you can help design the competition and work with people to help create new companies. It is also a fantastic opportunity to meet like-minded people from all the schools in Northwestern and network with real entrepreneurs and Venture Capitalists.
The three leadership positions open are for a Marketing Director, Logistics Director and Judging Director (open to people from all schools within Northwestern).

3. "Becoming your own Boss" by Larry Levy

This event is designed to offer advice to aspiring entrepreneurs in today's day and age. Mr. Levy will share his own experience of starting and running a highly successful business and then field questions from the audience. A networking reception will follow.

2. CHEST Case Competition
Problem: Smoking rates in developing nations have increased dramatically
Solution: The Carol and Larry Levy Social Entrepreneurship Lab and the Health Industry Management Program at Kellogg are partnering with the CHEST Foundation to sponsor a competition in search of a sustainable business plan that will mitigate the negative impact of smoking in developing nations.
Why Compete?
- Have a lasting, positive social impact in developing nations (winning business plan may be implemented by the CHEST Foundation
- Network with influential officials
- Win a $15,000 cash prize!
Teams
- Open to all graduate students, minimum of 1 Kellogg student per team
- 4 - 5 people per team
- We can facilitate matching of McCormick students to Kellogg teams if needed
