Illinois Technology Enterprise Center

ITEC-Evanston is a partnership of The Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity (DCEO) and Northwestern University dedicated to helping entrepreneurs develop new businesses that generate high paying, sustainable jobs.

DCEO is the state of Illinois’ economic development agency and is responsible for improving the competitiveness of Illinois in the global economy resulting in growing, prosperous industries, high quality jobs and world-class communities.

DCEO operates a network of 8 ITECs in Illinois. The 7 other ITECs are located at Argonne/University of Chicago, Carbondale, Champaign-Urbana, Chicago, Naperville, Peoria, and Springfield.

Northwestern University is an education institution that encourages innovation and the integration of experience across many fields. The following schools within the University have partnered with ITEC-Evanston: McCormick School of Engineering,Weinberg School of Arts & Sciences,Kellogg Graduate School of Business, and The Feinberg School of Medicine.

The ITEC program is operated by the Office of the Vice President for Research at Northwestern University.

Northwestern Technology Transfer Program

The Technology Transfer Program, a self-supporting unit, assists faculty, students, and staff in moving academic innovation from the bench to the market.

Small Business Opportunity Center

The SBOC is a nonprofit, student-based clinical program affiliated with the Bluhm Legal Clinic. Through the commitment of the Northwestern University School of Law, top attorneys and law students, the SBOC provides affordable legal services to entrepreneurs and nonprofit organizations focusing on job creation and economic development in the Chicago area.
